The
current spell of hot dry weather has been great for biting insects!
You can reduce the numbers in your home or stable-yard by making
your own cider vinegar fly trap and avoid the use
of pesticides.
Simply cut off
the top portion of a plastic water bottle and insert it as a funnel
in the lower half. Use a couple of inches of Apple Cider Vinegar
and half a teaspoon of sugar as bait.
Flies
are very attracted to cider vinegar but it has to be the traditional
variety made from 100% cider
apple juice. Factory made vinegar made from dessert fruit and
concentrate will not work as well.
Apple cider
vinegar fly traps are particularly recommended for use around stable
yards.
