Cider Vinegar puts an end to itchy scalps

Sarah's hair

The human scalp has a natural acidity of between 4.5 and 5.5. If the pH of the scalp becomes too alkaline yeast and bacteria grow which causes dandruff and itching.

Rinsing the hair regularly with Somerset Cider Vinegar restores the acidity of the scalp without stripping the hair of natural oils.

Restore the natural pH to your scalp

Using shampoo, and particularly 'medicated' products, too often dries out the skin of the scalp and disrupts the natural pH.

The Cider Vinegar rinse

After washing your hair rinse with a 2 to 1 mixture of water and cider vinegar. Massage well into the scalp and leave for at least two hours before rinsing away.

You can leave the vinegar on your scalp without rinsing. As soon as it is dry the 'apple' smell will disappear. Try to reduce the amount of commercial product you use on your hair.

The cider vinegar rinse will also remove the sticky residue that builds up in your hair from using shampoo and product over years. This residue can leave your hair looking flat and lifeless but cider vinegar will restore your bounce!
