Cider apple skins can save your life!
New research from Australia has found that the Flavonoids in apple skins improves both heart health and blood vessel function to the extent that your chances of dying are reduced by 35%!
Flavonoids are substances found in abundance in cider apple skin and are well known for their beneficial effects on health (flavonoids have previously been grouped with other substances and collectively known as antioxidants or phenolics).
Traditionally slow-fermenting PURE CIDER APPLE JUICE retains the Flavonoids
Traditionally slow-fermenting VINEGAR from PURE CIDER APPLE JUICE retains the flavonoids and triterpenoids (more about them later) from the apples.
The new research from EDITH COWAN UNIVERSITY, Western Australia has concluded that consuming flavonoids every day improves heart health to the extent that the chances of dying are reduced by 35%.
We know, from previous research at GLASGOW UNIVERSITY, that traditional English cider apple varieties (which weren't included in the Australian study) contain much greater quantities of phenolics and other antioxidants than dessert or culinary apples.
The Australian study was led by Dr Catherine Bondonno who said, "An apple a day really can keep the doctor away, especially the cardiologist!"

Triterpenoids, which have been isolated from apple skins, have strong anti-inflammatory properties and have even been found to fight cancer in human cells in laboratory studies.
Apple Cider Vinegar also contains prebiotics
Apple Cider Vinegar also contains prebiotics (similar to what is in the little plastic bottles in supermarkets) which are kinds of fibre that feed the healthy bacteria in the gut and help reduce inflammation and improve blood pressure (and also REDUCE CHOLESTEROL). The fibre in apples also produces a feeling of fullness that can aid weight loss.
